The World Bank’s Middle-Income Classification does not show the true extent of poverty in the Middle Income Countries (MICs) creates a perception that the MICs are ” not poor “; but in reality 75 % of the world’s poor and majority of the people living with HIV / AIDS reside in the MICs.
As a way of urging the World Bank to redefine it’s classification of Countries, a coalition in Africa has launched an online petition. They are hoping to get 10,000 signatures and would like for you to sign the petition in Solidarity and share with your networks!
